ACTE XXIV OF THE GILET JAUNES (YELLOW VESTS) DEMONSTRATIONS/PROTESTS, [27 APRIL]

According to announcements by the authorities, demonstrations and protests are expected in the
following places in Paris:
- The Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the National Assembly and areas surrounding the Elysée Palace
- Bastille, The immediate vicinity of Notre Dame and Île de la cité
- Mairie du 11e, Place L. Blum
- Eglise de Pantin
Demonstrators are also expected to follow these routes:
- Montparnasse > Place d'Italie
- Maison Radio France > quai Du Point Du Jour TF1 / LCI > avenue La Voie Lactée CNEWS> quai d'Issy-Les-Moulineaux France Télévision > rue du Général Alain De Boissieu BFM TV > quai André Citroën CSA

Disruption to the Métro and other transport services are likely, including the closures of the
following stations (https://www.ratp.fr/travaux-manifestations/manifestations):
- Line 1 : Tuileries, Argentine, George V
- Line 1, 2, 6, RER A : Charles de Gaulle Etoile
- Line 1, 8, 12: Concorde
- Line 1, 9: Franklin D. Roosevelt
- Line 1, 13: Champs-Elysées Clemenceau
- Line 9, 13: Miromesnil
- Line 12: Assemblée Nationale
Furthermore, several bus lines are likely to be deviated in these areas.
The RATP has also specified that the reopening of the stations will be carried out upon approval of the Préfecture de Police.
Outside of Paris, demonstrations and protests are also expected in other cities, particularly in Strasbourg and Toulouse.
The local authorities of Strasbourg have banned demonstrations in several locations in Strasbourg on Saturday (https://bit.ly/2XME11E). They have advised to avoid areas surrounding the ellipse insulaire, parvis de la gare, and European institutions.
The local authorities of Lyon, Rennes, Rouen and Caen have advised to avoid the city centres as well.
As advised in the Travel Notice of 16 March 2019, please exercise a high degree of caution during the demonstrations and protests, which can be violent, especially when protesters clash with law enforcement officers. Please monitor local media for the latest developments on the protests, as they may evolve, avoid areas targeted by protesters and heed all public safety he instructions issued by the local authorities. Please also take into account disruptions to traffic circulation and public transport services and allow for more time to get from one place to another.
