General entry requirements applicable to all visitors

All visitors must hold a passport valid for at least six months after their date of arrival in Singapore.

It is also necessary to apply for an SG Arrival Card (opens in new tab) within three days prior to arrival.

The granting of leave to remain is at the discretion of Immigration (ICA) officers upon entry into the country.

The period of stay granted is indicated on the stamp affixed to the visitor’s passport. Visitors are advised to carefully check the date of entry into the country and the number of days granted, as shown on their passport, before leaving the immigration checkpoint.

Short-term visa applications

Holders of a French Temporary Travel Document must apply for a visa.

Travellers from the countries mentioned above who are not resident in France are required to apply for a visa at the nearest Singapore consular mission abroad. ↗(opens in new tab) (opens in new tab)


Submitting a visa application

There are two ways to submit a visa application:

(a) In person at the Embassy, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY via the following link: https://singapore-embassy-in-paris.appointlet.com/ (opens in new tab) 

(b) Online, if you have a contact in Singapore who can submit the application on your behalf via (opens in new tab)https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/esvclandingpage/save (opens in new tab).

The Embassy’s consular reception is closed at weekends, on French public holidays and on Singapore’s National Day on 9 August.

Required documents

  1. Form 14A, duly completed and signed, with a valid email address (downloadable here (opens in new tab)).

  2. One colour passport-sized photograph (35mm x 45mm), with a white background, matt or semi-matt finish, taken within the last 3 months, to be affixed to the form.

  3. Your passport, valid for more than 6 months after your arrival date, and a colour photocopy of the personal details page (bio-data).

  4. [For residents in France] Residence permit, original and photocopy.

  5. Return flight tickets showing the dates of entry into and departure from Singapore, as well as the applicant’s name.

[If you are applying for a multiple-entry visa, provide evidence for each entry and exit.]

  1. A hotel booking in Singapore in the applicant’s name, with dates matching those on the flight tickets.

  2. [For certain countries, check here (opens in new tab)] a V39A letter of introduction from a local contact in Singapore OR a sworn statement, signed by the applicant and legalised by their consulate.

The declaration must state:

(a)   the details of the trip;

(b)   that the applicant undertakes to leave Singapore after their stay;

(c)   that the applicant has no local contact in Singapore.

 Important notes:

  • Please note that any scanned or blurred photographs will not be accepted.

  • Any incomplete form or false declaration will result in a delay in the processing of the application or even its rejection.

Processing time

Visa applications may only be submitted within 30 days prior to your arrival in Singapore.

The processing time for visa applications is approximately 5 to 7 working days from the date of receipt of the complete application. Some applications may take longer to process. When submitting your application, it is therefore important to ensure that your intended departure dates allow for sufficient processing time.

Please note that there is no fast-track procedure and that each visa application will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Visa fees

The application fee, effective from 1 January 2026, is 20 euros. Payments may be made in cash (exact change only) or by cheque. This fee is non-refundable if the application is refused.

Visa issuance

An electronic visa in PDF format will be sent to travellers from countries whose applications have been approved. The e-visa must be presented to the immigration officer at the checkpoint upon arrival in Singapore, together with a valid passport.


Note for travellers transiting through Singapore

Any passenger wishing to make a connection via Singapore, whilst remaining in the transit area of Changi Airport and without going through Singapore immigration controls, does not require a visa.

However, when connecting tickets are purchased from different airlines, it may be necessary to go through immigration checks in order to collect your luggage and re-check it, or to collect your boarding pass for the next flight. In such cases, travellers holding a passport from a country whose nationals are subject to visa requirements will need to obtain a visa to enter Singapore.

We therefore advise travellers transiting through Singapore to contact their airlines to find out about the various transfer services available and to check whether they are required to report to immigration during their transit.


Other residence permits

The Embassy only processes applications for ‘social’, ‘tourist’ or ‘business’ visas. Professionals, business owners, senior executives, specialists or entrepreneurs wishing to work in Singapore must apply for an ‘Employment Pass’ and obtain a ‘pre-entry approval’ in order to enter Singapore. Important notice for the People’s Republic of China (PRC) nationals:

With effect from 9 February 2024, holders of ordinary passports issued by the People’s Republic of China will be exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days in Singapore.

Holders of all other travel documents issued by the PRC must continue to apply for an entry visa before travel into Singapore.*

Please note that there will be no refund of the visa processing fee for those who had earlier submitted an application.

* These include the PRC Travel Document, Hong Kong SAR Document of Identity (DOI) and Macau SAR Travel Permit. Holders of diplomatic, public affairs and service passports issued by the PRC will continue to be exempted from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days in Singapore as per current treatment.
