MFA is committed to providing consular services with professionalism and courtesy. We ask that you treat our officers with the same civility and mutual respect. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy against abuse, harassment, or threatening behaviour. Our officers reserve the right to disengage from, or take action against, any such unreasonable behaviour.

Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024

 In preparation of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games, and the arrival of many international visitors to France, the French Interior Ministry has released a website (https://www.masecurite.interieur.gouv.fr/en) to provide information and guide visitors on security-related administrative procedures in France. 

The website and its application (both available in English) offers a 24/7 chat with police officers or gendarmes, and also online appointment bookings. Please refer to the brochure and their website for more information.

Lost Passports

Singaporeans who have lost their passport can apply for a temporary travel document called a Document of Identity (DOI) via the APPLES system or at the Embassy.

For applications at the Embassy, the following documents are required:

1. Police report;

2. 2 passport sized photographs on white background;

3. Personal particulars as given in your NRIC & your NRIC number.

4. Fee - 10 euros per DOI (Payment only by bank transfer)

Notarial services

The Embassy provides notarial services including notarisation and authentication of documents, attestation and certification of signatures and stamps, witnessing of a signature affixed to statutory declaration and certifying a true copy of a document that is used in Singapore or Singapore Courts.

Documents must be scanned and sent via email to singemb_par@mfa.sg for review before an appointment can be scheduled for notarial services at the embassy. The whole document should be presented in proper form. The Embassy reserves the right to reject the request for notarial service if the full documents are not provided. Please note that no new documents for notarial service will be accepted during the appointment.

The total cost of notarial services will be conveyed after all documents have been reviewed. Payment can only be made via bank transfer.

Upon receiving payment, the Embassy will confirm your appointment. Appointments for notarial services are available from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm on Mondays to Fridays, except on public holidays and 9 August.

Certification of true copies of documents

The Embassy can certify true copies of documents for use in France or Singapore.

Each certification costs 4 euros, payable by bank transfer only.

Witnessing of signatures

The Embassy can witness signatures on documents for use in Singapore, such as a power of attorney, HDB documents and CPF documents. Each witnessing for an individual costs 11 euros, with additional exhibits at 1 euro each, payable by bank transfer only. Additional certifications required during the witnessing process will be charged separately, in accordance with the above paragraph.

Attestation of documents

The Embassy can issue an attestation in French or English for documents issued by the Singapore government, such as birth certificates, marriage certificates, driving licences, etc. The "attestation de concordance" also falls under this category.

Each attestation costs 11 euros, payable by bank transfer only.

The generic "certificat de coutume" required for marriage in France is issued for free.

Legalisation of Documents

On 18 January 2021, Singapore acceded to the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) Convention of 5 October 1961 (“Apostille Convention”), abolishing the requirement of legalisation for foreign public documents. The Singapore Academy of Law is authorised to issue Apostilles for all Singapore documents bound overseas with effect from 16 September 2021. Please check with the relevant authority that the Embassy's legalisation will be accepted.

France is a party to the Apostille Convention. The French Apostille Issuing Authority is the French Court of Appeals. With effect from 16 September 2021, documents with an apostille affixed can be presented in Singapore directly without further legal legalisation from the Embassy of Singapore in Paris. The contact details of the French Court of Appeals are as follow :
